If you are involved in a motorcycle wreck, there are special considerations. Most of the time, the injuries are very serious. A motorcycle does not have the protection a car or truck provides its passengers. Motorcyclists want to enjoy riding on the road and having a sense of freedom. It’s not just an advertising slogan. But other drivers do not see motorcycles as easily as they other cars. At any one time, we represent riders who have been hit by cars who didn’t see them because of the actions and fault of the driver of the car, not anything our clients have done.
An important consideration for motorcycle riders is having insurance. Even though most states do not require motorcyclists to have insurance, we strongly recommend it. Because of the injuries that a motorcyclist can suffer in a crash, liability insurance, personal injury protection or PIP and underinsured motorist insurance are important. If your bike is worth more than $1,000, collision coverage is probably worth it as well.
